Dear Kodiak Community,
It’s that time of year when we need YOUR help to make some real winter magic happen for our CHS students!
For our 2025 Winter Wishes event, every student made one wish for themselves and one wish for a Kodiak friend. Now we’re asking our amazing community to help grant these wishes and spread some joy across our campus.
Creating a little winter magic is easy:
1) Follow the link to view the Winter Wishes list
2) Choose a wish you’d like to grant
3) Purchase the item
4) Deliver it to the CHS Main Office with the wish number clearly marked
5) Drop it off before December 15
All gifted items will be delivered to students December 15–19, and larger gifts will be revealed at our Winter Wish event on December 19 — a celebration of holiday joy.
We truly appreciate your generosity, kindness, and Kodiak spirit. Thank you for helping CHS Leadership bring a little sparkle, cheer, and joy to our students this season.
With gratitude,
CHS Leadership🎄💚

Washington State law requires schools built before 2016 to test drinking water for lead. This means that Alpine Lakes, Peshastin-Dryden, and Cascade High School are all fine. We tested Beaver Valley, Cascade High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) Building, the District Office/Home Link, and Icicle River Middle School. Here’s what we found: No lead detected at Beaver Valley, Cascade HS CTE, Discovery School. At the District Office/HomeLink, we had to shut off one outlet, and at Icicle River MS, we had to shut off 4 out of 36 outlets and label 5 handwashing only. Safe drinking water is available at all schools through water fountains, bottle-fill stations, and bottled water. We’re working on an action plan to replace fixtures, install filters, and retest to confirm safe levels. We have applied for a grant from the state to pay for these efforts and we are not expecting to request taxpayers for any additional funding for remediation. We were excited to launch our partnership with Communities in Schools at Alpine Lakes and IRMS! Our site coordinator Dora Campos (pictured on the left in the pumpkin sweater) is amazing! Learn more about Communities in Schools at: https://cisncw.ciswa.org/.
