Kim is entering her 26th year in education and has had the opportunity to serve students in a variety of roles, including teacher, assistant principal, and principal in both public and private schools. She taught 7th grade science at IRMS for six wonderful years and developed a deep appreciation for the students, staff, families, and community that make IRMS so special. Over the past three years, she has served as Assistant Principal at Sultan Middle School and most recently as Principal of Parkway Intermediate School in Ephrata. While those experiences have been invaluable, she always hoped for the opportunity to return to IRMS, and she is grateful that day has arrived.
Kim’s connection to the Leavenworth community runs deep. Her husband Shawn and Kim moved to Leavenworth nine years ago and quickly fell in love with the area. Both of their daughters graduated from Cascade School District, and Kim has had the privilege of teaching two of her nephews at IRMS, with another joining the school next year.
What Kim loves most about Icicle River Middle School is its spirit of creativity, collaboration, and innovation. It is a place where staff work together to create meaningful learning experiences and where students are encouraged to grow, explore, and discover their potential.
Kim looks forward to partnering with students, families, and staff as they continue the tradition of excellence at IRMS. Together, they will inspire students to learn, lead, and develop the skills and character needed to become the next generation of leaders in our community.
Thank you for welcoming Kim back home. She is truly honored to serve the IRMS community and excited for the journey ahead.
