• COVID INFORMATION APRIL 2022 UPDATES

COVID Testing (only when school is in session)
Symptomatic testing for our students and families happens Mon-Fri. from 10:30 -11:30 am between the high school and middle school.

February 28, 2022 - Governor Inslee announced that the statewide indoor mask requirement for Washington state, including in our PreK-12 schools and on our school buses, is scheduled to end at 11:59 pm on Friday, March 11th.  For schools, this means that beginning on Monday, March 14th, mask wearing is optional for students, staff and visitors.  There may be exceptions, such as someone returning after being sick with COVID, but we will receive more information as the week continues.  We are asking everyone to be respectful of everyone whether they choose to wear a mask or not - it is their personal choice. Outdoor meals will be started again at elementary schools with optional outdoor meals at middle and high schools. This allows our elementary schools to regain use of their gyms as well as provide an additional mitigation layer.

February 17, 2022 - Governor Inslee announced that the statewide indoor mask requirement for Washington state, including in our PreK-12 schools, is scheduled to end on March 21, 2022.  Until March 21, masks will continue to be required of all students, staff, and visitors.  Once the statewide requirement is lifted, masks will be encouraged but not required in our school buildings.  The exception to this rule is that masks will still be required on school buses per a federal mandate that requires masks to be worn on all forms of public transportation.

The Chelan Douglas Health District tells us the omicron variant is here and is extremely contagious. Here are things all of us can do to help ourselves and our community:
     - Get fully vaccinated if you have not done so already
     - Check your mask to make sure it covers your nose and mouth properly. Upgrade your mask to make sure it has multiple layers and fits the face closing gaps.
     - Continue social distancing
     - Wash your hands frequently
     - Stay away from large gatherings
     - If anyone in your household has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or is sick with a COVID-like illness - stay home and email your building school nurse, Kesha Smith (PD, Home Link, CHS, & Discovery School) or Shelly Zehm (Alpine Lakes, Beaver Valley, IRMS & Kodiak Cubs).

February 1, 2022 - Updated Guidance from DOH regarding the definition of fully vaccinated impacting number of quarantine days.

To be considered fully vaccinated for ages 18+, you would need to have completed the booster.  Ages 5-17 would only need to have their primary series (two).  If you do not wish to get a booster, under the definition you would be considered "unvaccinated" and would need to follow the quarantine guidelines for unvaccinated.
