Welcome to the Cascade Home Link ALE program
Cascade Home Link: An Alternative Learning Experience for students in grades K-8.
2023-2024 - Home Link Connection Class starts Aug 29th and is full-time for the first three days. All other classes start on Sept 5th.
Overview:
At Cascade Home Link, we value hands-on learning, creativity, personal responsibility, leadership, diligence, and connection to the community. Our purpose is to support families that choose a home-based education for their kids.
Cascade Home Link is an ALE (Alternative Learning Experience), which operates under the guidelines of the State of Washington and the Cascade School District. ALE Programs are defined as public schools where some (or all) of the instruction is delivered outside the parameters of a “regular classroom” setting, and/or schedule.
Cascade Home Link teachers work alongside parents/guardians to help them build an individualized Student Learning Plan (SLP) that covers the traditional core subjects which will be taught at home (I.e., math, language arts, science, social studies). In turn, Cascade Home Link offers a flexible schedule of both outdoor and indoor enrichment classes to students who enroll. The outdoor Experiential Education class (EE) takes full advantage of the beautiful natural environment of Leavenworth. A few examples of recent EE units of study include botany, orienteering, wilderness first aid, PE, Leadership, and Ecology. The indoor lessons are taught in our classrooms located on the second floor of the Cascade School District Office. An example of the kinds of classes we have offered recently are creative writing, social studies, art, and science.
