Learn to Return is a program of several school districts in partnership with the Washington State Department of Health in which COVID testing is integrated into school districts as an additional mitigation strategy. Through this pilot program, Cascade School District is offering free asymptomatic COVID-19 testing using Everlywell test kits to staff and school students.

Everlywell uses painless nasal swabs. Cascade High School started this opportunity the week of January 25, 2021 for seniors and rolled out the opportunity to additional high school classes in subsequent weeks. Icicle River Middle School started this opportunity the week of March 24, 2021.

During the 2021-2022 school year, asymptomatic COVID testing will be available for all students by parent request. Our hope is that test results will both help lower incidence rates in Chelan County and also let students know if they are positive for COVID-19 even if they are asymptomatic.
