Icicle River Middle School Principal Candidate Interviews are this week
Cascade School District would like to invite parents, staff and community to meet the candidates for the Icicle River Middle School principal position at 6:30 pm in the IRMS commons. You will have a chance to hear their biographies and ask questions.

Tuesday: Mike Janski, Teacher, Icicle River Middle School
Wednesday: James St. George, Assistant Principal, Sunrise and Woodland Elementary Schools
Thursday: Beau Snow, Assistant Principal, Ellensburg High School

2014 WA Achievement Awards Announced

Congratulations to Cascade High School and Icicle River Middle School for being named as recipients of the 2014 WA Achievement Awards.  WA Achievement Award winners are selected using the State Board of Education Revised Achievement Index and are based on statewide assessment data for the three previous years.  The award is given in six categories:  Overall Excellence, High Progress, Reading Growth, Math Growth, Extended Graduation Rate, and English Language Acquisition.

Cascade High School is recognized for:  High Progress
Icicle River Middle School is recognized for:  Reading Growth

Congratulations and Welcome to Emily Ross

Emily Ross We are excited to announce the new principal at Peshastin Dryden Elementary School as Emily Ross of the Puyallup School District. Emily grew up in a small town in Montana and has taught in both Florida and Washington.  

She is completing her administrative internship through WSU and has experience in building and district-based leadership/program management.

Emily and her husband have a five year old daughter and are looking forward to moving to the valley this summer.

Lynn Dahlstedt and Joan Zega Honored with Regional Excellence Awards

School districts in the North Central ESD region honor their best and brightest staff annually at an Excellence Banquet. This year the Cascade School District will honor Lynn Dahlstedt of Cascade High School and District Nurse, Joan Zega, at the regional celebration. 

Lynn has been a special education teacher at Cascade High School since 1981 and graduated with a BA in Education from Washington State University in 1972.

Nurse Zega graduated from the Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing in 1970 and has been employed by Cascade since 2005. Lynn and Joan will be honored on May 5th at the Wenatchee Center.
